In Spring 2022, I joined Blizzard Entertainment’s Team 3 and had the pleasure to contribute to one of the largest video game franchises of all time: Diablo.


After assisting in closing out the project, Diablo IV released to critical acclaim and astronomical player numbers.


Afterwards, I joined a smaller sub-team on D4 called the Seasons team focused on creating new, exciting, experimental content drops for our dedicated playerbase. I’ve been involved in the development of Season of the Malignant and Season of the Construct.


In 2024, I joined an effort to create a dynamic time-attack mode called Kurast Undercity for D4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred.

Kurast Undercity

The Undercity is an innovative, time-attack dungeon experience in Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred


  • Time-Attack: Race against a ticking clock balancing slaying time bonus monsters vs completing bite-sized events to juice rewards.
  • Choose-Your-Own-Rewards: Players slot in keys of varying rarity to dictate their rewards and challenge level.
  • Multi-Floor Layouts: Diablo IV’s first procedural dungeon consisting of floors that are entirely separate instances allowing for greater gameplay variety.


Players find Tributes and spend resources on Bargains to customize their rewards but also add to the challenge.

Players explore to ignite Spirit Beacons to earn Attunement to increase rewards while racing against the clock.

Vaults

Vaults are dangerous, loot-filled dungeons in Diablo IV’s Season of the Construct


  • Traps: I created 4 new trap types to add to our repertoire including Arrow Shooters, Elemental Spikes, Floor Runes, and Rotating Fire Pillars.
  • Hand-Placed Layouts: Vaults contain trap rooms forgh players to traverse through featuring tempting reward chests for precise players.
  • Zoltun’s Warding: Players can spend resources to opt-in to bonus rewards as long as they can avoid contact with too many traps.


Players are given the option to acquire charges of the Zoltun’s Warding buff. If they finish the Vault with remaining charges, they can claim bonus rewards!

Players must evade traps throughout their Vault delving adventures. The dungeon culminates with a timed onslaught of demons in a tricky death room.
